APPLYING INNOVATION

Our heat exchanger is the result of substantial experience in the field of high pressure die-casting for the Heating industry. The combination of production technologies such as high pressure die casting and Friction Stir Welding enables you to integrate our innovative heat exchanger or (production) technologies safely into your boiler.

HIGH PRESSURE DIE CASTING
Our vision is that the next generation Heat Exchangers are made of high pressure aluminium die casting, offering substantial advantages compared to other production techniques, such as sand casting & stainless steel.

The die casting process offers the following advantages to your heat exchanger:

High Pressure Die casting
High Pressure Die casting
  • Exact dimensional tolerances
  • High pressure die casting offers unmatched accuracy. This enables us to deliver an ultra compact heat exchanger with outstanding quality at all times.
  • Smooth surface
  • High pressure die casting offers a unique smooth surface, resulting in a so-called self-cleaning effect. In case of difficulties, this surface in combination with a laminar flow inside the heat exchanger, makes cleaning trouble-free.
  • Unique composition of aluminium alloy
  • Enduring the lifecycle of the Heat Exchanger and preventing corrosion.
  • Complex shapes
  • High pressure die casting offers complex shapes to be cast with high precision. Complex shapes in combination with Friction Stir Welding offers unmatched design potential such as proven in our recent product introductions.

FRICTION STIR WELDING
Rubitech Group has developed Friction Stir Welding (FSW) for aluminium die cast products requiring a mass production scale. Rubitech Heating applies this technology to make high-integrity and reliable welds in aluminium die castings for heat exchangers. A key difference compared to conventional fusion welding is that material is not melted, but plasticized by friction heat at around 450 ºC. The first application on our heat exchanger resulted in a seal which is absolutely leak free and durable.

Our in-house FSW expertise allows us to design new applications and focus on flexible and cost effective FSW solutions. In 2010 Rubitech was awarded 2nd place in the International Die casting Competition held in Nurnberg, Germany, for being among the first to successfully apply FSW in the die casting production.

Key advantages of applied Friction Stir Welding
  • Weld has same or better quality as casting material
  • No change in chemical composition. Nothing is added, no filler material and no gas
  • Allows integration of plastic components inside the aluminium
